Alcatel is known for its affordable and budget mobile phones. They have decided to join the smartphone brigade by releasing their own smart phone, the Alcatel OT 980. It is the company’s first Android smartphone.

It has an onscreen keyboard that you can use in both wide and tall modes but it is not very ideal. The screen is just 2.8 inches and has a 320 x 240 pixel resolution; in short the screen keyboard is squeezed inside for space. The general specification of Alcatel OT 980 includes a 194 MB internal memory and a microSD support of up to 32 GB, 2 mega pixel built in camera, and a physical QWERTY keyboard, GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WLAN, Bluetooth and microUSB for connectivity.

On the plus side, they used Android v2.1 and HSDPA that can support up to 7.2 Mbps download. You can send or receive SMS, MMS and IM messaging and it also has HTML browsers. It also has 3.5 mm headset connector which means you can replace their headphone with your own personal earpiece.

Other feature includes GPS, Java, Digital compass, MP3, WMA, AAC+ player, MP4 player Google applications such as Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google calendar, Google talk integration, Organizer and Voice memo. It runs in an 115mAh standard Lithium battery that can support up to 245 hours of standby time, 10 hours of talk time and 35 hours of music play.

Alcatel OT 808 One Touch XTRA is a slider phone by Alcatel. It is one of the mobile phone that you can be proud of. It has some wonderful features that will impress you. It is supported by a 2g GSM and 3G HSDPA network.

Alcatel has announced that they are going to launch a new mobile soon, the Alcatel OT 806. This phone runs in an 850 mAh Lithium Ion battery pack. Alcatel OT 806 has a 2.80 inches touch sensitive screen with 320 x 240 resolution and 262K color. It has a full QWERTY type keyboard and supported by a 2G network that includes GSM 900 and GSM 1800.

The size of the mobile phone is 118 x 59.0 x 12.4 mm. Alcatel OT 806 has an 80MB internal memory that can be expanded up to 8GB memory using a microSD card. It can store up to 800 phone book entries. Polyphonic and MP3 ringtones are included and 3.5mm audio jack is provided to let the user enjoy music whenever they want.

Using the internet is also possible wjth the Alcatel OT 806 with the use of Opera Mini 5. It has GPRS and EDGE technology. Not just that but Alcatel OT806 also has USB, WLAN and Bluetooth for connectivity.

The Alcatel OT 710 measures 102 x 58.5 x 12.8mm and about weighs 105g. This mobile phone is equipped with 2 mega pixel built in camera that lets you capture amazing photos and quality videos. It also allows you to play multi format video and audio files.
